- Yes!!! A local ISP uses low-end Multitechs (2834ZDX) and Supra 288s can
- connect but usually get dropped quickly. There seems to be some problem
- with rate negotiation; when the Multitech on the other end initiates a
- rate renegotiation the connection almost always gets dropped. On the other
- hand I have had much better luck with a different ISP that uses the
- high-end rack mount Multitechs.

- Supra is aware of the problem and is supposedly working on a ROM revision
- to deal with it (according to a message I received from one of their
- techs). Multitech, on the other hand, denies that there is a problem at
- all; "we have tested our modems with the Supras and they work fine." I
- just love companies that deal with obvious, reproducible problems reported
- by competent professionals by denying that they exist. Multitech is
- definitely on my "don't buy" list now.
